More about the Basingstoke Town Access Plan
The Plan puts forward a set of proposals and schemes which aim to:
- Improve accessibility throughout Basingstoke by all sustainable modes of transport, notably walking, cycles and public transport;
- Enhance Basingstoke as an important centre to live, work and visit;
- Support the local economy by providing improved transport infrastructure;
- Promote social inclusion and access for all; and
Integrate transport proposals with land use development.
Local residents and key stakeholders were given opportunities to tell us about local transport issues, concerns and aspirations at stakeholder consultation events and a public consultation event. The information gathered has been used to develop the Basingstoke Town Access Plan, which was formally adopted by Hampshire County council in January 2012.
The adopted Plan includes a full list of local improvements, all of which are included in the Action Plan (see pages 12-32 of the Plan).
We would like to thank all the residents, business and stakeholders that participated in developing the document. The Plan and this web page will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect completed works and new priorities.
