Scheme Objectives and Description:-
The purpose of this scheme is to provide improved pedestrian accessibility along Sherfield Road.
The scheme comprises of the following new works:
The proposed works comprise of installation of new pedestrian crossings and build outs; new bus hard standing areas; installation of pedestrian refuge ; new ‘SLOW’ marking on red high friction surfacing; new surfacing to aid breaking and reduce speeds: arboricultural works and new ‘30’ road markings.
New pedestrian crossings and footway widening.
The contract has been awarded to Rocon Contractors Ltd and is scheduled to start on 28th May 2012.

Start:- 28th May 2012 Finish:- 13th July 2012
The contractor for works is Rocon Contractors Ltd. During construction, access to all properties will be maintained at all times and works will be carried, if required, using single file traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals and there are no planned road closures.
