Environmental improvements in Tadley: public consultation
During summer 2013 Hampshire County Council held a public consultation on environmental and transport improvements for Tadley. Thank you to all those people who provided valuable feedback on the proposed schemes. These comments have now been considered and Hampshire County Council’s responses are summarised in the document below.
The County Council will seek the relevant financial approvals to deliver these improvements in 2014.
Tadley has been affected by:
the planned expansion of the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) at Aldermaston
development of a new Sainsbury’s site at Milford's Hill (A340)
residential development at Boundary Hall
To allow Tadley to accommodate the growth and mitigate the impact of the developments on the transport network, the County Council has secured financial contributions from the commercial building developers. These financial contributions will be used to pay for transport and accessibility improvements within Tadley.
Working in partnership with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Tadley Town Council, the County Council has developed a number of proposals to improve the access to key services and facilities in the Tadley urban area for the local community. The access improvements include walking, cycling, public transport, and to improve the overall operation of the road network.
