Working with the voluntary and community sector
The County Council recognises the huge diversity of the work carried out by voluntary organisations and the enormous difference they make to peoples lives, communities and the environment across the county.
The Councils in Hampshire work together to better understand what voluntary and community organisations need so that we can ensure public funding is directed to providing appropriate assistance.
The County Council talks about the importance of working in partnership in its statement on working with the community and voluntary sector 106kb.
Hampshire County Council also adheres to the principles of the National Compact which is a code governing the way the statutory and voluntary sector work together.
Hampshire County Council values the work done by volunteers and is keen to encourage more people to volunteer in their local community. If you would like to find out about volunteering opportunities in your area, contact your local centre through Volunteer centres in Hampshire.
