Waste acceptance at HWRCs in Hampshire
In line with their site licenses, HWRCs are only allowed to accept waste from a household source. Trade or commercial waste is not accepted under any circumstances. Some sites vary in what they are licensed to accept, so please make sure you check before you visit.
Different containers/areas are provided to segregate the waste and recycling easier please speak to the staff if you are unsure of what to do with a waste item.

Bulky items (including furniture)
Green garden waste
Metals
Newspapers and magazines
Cardboard
Glass bottles and jars
Soil and rubble *
Wood
Textiles
Car batteries
Engine oil
Items only accepted at specific sites include:
Hazardous household waste
Cement bonded asbestos

Site regulations
- HWRCs are for household rubbish only.
- Commercial, trade or industrial waste is not permitted.
- Occasionally, site staff may ask you to sign a disclaimer form to confirm that the waste is from your own household.
- Infectious or offensive rubbish will not be accepted.
Health and safety
- Children and animals must stay in the vehicle at all times.
- Be aware of vehicle movements and/or people moving bulky items.
- Never lob items into a bin as staff may be working within it.
- If you need guidance or assistance, please ask the site staff.
Accessibility
- All sites are accessible for disabled persons, and most have a parking space set aside.
- If you require any assistance for whatever reason whilst on site, please ask a member of the site staff who will be glad to help.
