Fareham’s local museum, tells the story of the Borough from Portchester to Warsash, from Hill Head to Swanwick. Set in a fabulous Georgian building, the museum is right in the heart of Fareham town centre.

    Learn about Fareham’s industries, as a major supplier of strawberries, chimneypots and bricks and as a centre for building innovative and advanced boats.

    Timeline Gallery
    A family-friendly gallery shows how Fareham people have lived - from objects used 9,000 years ago to the present day, including an amazing Roman curse on someone who stole a purse almost 2,000 years ago! Travel through Fareham’s history yourself by joining in to play The Fareham Game.

    Coffee Shop gallery
    Relax in the elegant surroundings overlooking the garden... the excellent coffee and delicious home made cakes are enough to tempt any visitor. There is also a beautiful Georgian fire place, originally from nearby Cams Hall, as well as a number of local paintings

There is a regular programme of exhibitions ranging from major touring shows to the local projects in partnership with local organisations. There are free family activities all year round and hands-on activities during the school holidays.
