Strike impact 16 July
The impact of the UNISON, and UNITE the Union strike on Hampshire County Council’s services is minimal, and frontline essential services continue to be provided as usual. There are exemptions in place protecting services provided to the young, old and vulnerable in our care.
Hampshire County Council has approximately 5,000 Unison members and around 300 UNITE members which equates to around 20% of the total workforce. In total today we have around 414 staff (excluding Schools) striking. Just 8 of our 530 schools have had to close or partially close and 10 of our 54 libraries and two of our mobile libraries.
