Covers animal health/welfare on agricultural premises, misleading advertisements, product and environmental safety, false or misleading descriptions, food labelling, weights & measures.  Note: District councils responsible for food hygiene enforcement (the County Council laboratory service carries out analysis of food for district councils’ Environmental Health Services on a contractual basis).  HCC's Service also includes the 'buy with confidence' website, consumer education projects in schools, work to raise awareness of dangers of door-step sales.
