Family Visits

There are plenty of things for families to do as you visit the museum and special exhibitions gallery.

During term-time our Natural History Gallery has tables & chairs especially for our smaller visitors where they can do a jigsaw, read a book or have a go at one of the regularly changing activities. There is also a dressing-up corner with a selection of fun and historic themed costumes.

We also run a regular programme of family friendly craft days with drop-in make and take activities and bookable workshops. These run every school holiday and are aimed families joining in and having fun together. There is also a selection of trails available for different ages and abilities.

Inspired by our collections, local history or changing programme of exhibitions, there is plenty to do and always something new!
