Claire Barclay, studied at The Glasgow School of Art and continues to live and work in the city. She has exhibited widely including nationally at Tate Britain, Whitechapel Gallery, Centre for Contemporary Art, Glasgow and internationally at Venice Biennale, Melbourne, Sweden and Mexico.
Research into the phenomena of the Punch and Judy show has led to a creative project focusing on an exploration of the collaborative process through participatory workshops, talks and Punch and Judy performances. The outcomes of this collaboration will be sparked by the improvised interactions between different participants and documented and interpreted in the form of a bookwork. This will be on display at other artSOUTH venues and sites, highlighting links with some of the other projects, and different approaches to collaboration.
Arts University Bournemouth are also hosting an additional exhibition Potential Architecture of work by Lucy + Jorge Orta, Curated by Simon Beeson at TheGallery relating to the theme of collaboration.
