Funding From Trusts and Foundations
There are a number of independent trusts and funding programmes offering support to organisations, and the following list is by no means exhaustive. The Arts
Arts Council England
The national funding body for the arts, with a few different funding streams supporting different aspects of the performance and display of artistic work.
Education
Connecting Classrooms
An international programme enabling connections between clusters of schools and educational organisations in different countries. There should be at least 3 countries involved, ideally including one non-EU country.
Generalist Funds

Comic Relief
UK and International projects can apply to Comic Relief funding for a range of purposes addressing disadvantage. -
Esmee Fairbairn
A popular generalist fund covering culture, disadvantage, education and environment. -
Grass Roots
Run on a local level, these grants are available to local organisations providing a community service. -
Henry Smith
A large general fund with a focus on addressing social inequality and economic disadvantage. -
Lloyds TSB
Particularly interested in supporting smaller, underfunded charities addressing disadvantage within the community.
Sport
Sports Aid
Fitting comfortably between Sport England and UK Sport, Sports Aid support young and amateur sportspeople into participation in competition.
Young People

Children in Need
Grants available for projects working with disadvantaged children (defined as 18 or younger). There are two large general funding streams as well as a more specific opportunity on rotation. -
The Wooden Spoon Charity
£20k-100k available towards capital costs for projects concerned with supporting disadvantaged children.
