Volunteers
There is always plenty to do and only two full time staff to do it, so we are very grateful for the many days of help that we currently receive from numerous volunteers. Members of the 'Wednesday conservation volunteer group' recently helped to put up a fence and install gates. We also have regular visits from the Hampshire and the Andover groups, as well as students from Sparsholt College, and many individuals whose help is always highly valued.
You can get involved in this work, in a number of ways. If you wish to go outside and get physical, why not join us in some practical winter tasks? It's a great way to stay healthy, enjoy the countryside, meet people and do something useful at the same time.
Perhaps you have natural history skills that could help us to add information to a database of species, found on our sites. You can work with our regular groups, come along as an individual or work along side us.
The choice is yours and the commitment can be as great or as little as you wish. For example at Danebury we have stock grazing throughout the year, that need checking daily, just to make sure they are still there. Do you visit regularly? It could be as simple as that, so why not give the rangers a call on 01962 860948.
