Finance in Academies [GT139]

Who will benefit? Academy governors who are members of the finance/resource committee.

What will you learn? The course is very much an introduction to academy finance and is designed to meet the needs of those governors who have not yet been through a full years financial cycle or are new governors with no prior knowledge of educational budget processes. It will include the roles and responsibilities in academy finance; highlight some of the differences between academy and maintained school finance, an introduction to the statutory and non statutory financial reporting requirements, and an overview of the funding and basic budget principles.
