June 2012 half term

This time there are two separate clubs on two separate days so there should be one near you!

  • Wednesday 6 June 2012 – Forest Arts Centre, New Milton

  • Friday 8 June 2012 – The Tower, Winchester

Wednesday 6 June 2012 – 9.30am-12.30pm

  • Out of Africa – learn to create new rhythms with African drums and percussion

  • The Djembe is a wooden drum played with bare hands – the word ‘Djembe’ can
    be translated as ‘gather everyone’

Friday 8 June 2012 – 9am-12 noon

The Tower @ Kings’, Winchester

  • Udu and Dhol – learn drums from 2 different continents

  • Nigerian water jug drums, and North Indian Punjabi bhangra drums

Hampshire Music Service brings you two more of its highly enjoyable Holiday Drum Clubs for the June half-term holidays

There’s something for everyone, whether your child already plays an instrument, wants to develop their percussion skills or simply wants to try something fun and stimulating for the holidays

  • Develop musical skills and play in an exciting drumming group

  • Improve rhythm and teamwork, build confidence and concentration

  • Have fun in a structured and friendly environment

  • Meet new friends

  • Taught by an experienced and energetic Hampshire Music Service percussion expert

  • Suitable for ages 8-13 years old

  • £15 per session, sign up for one or two clubs
