Emergency Kit

An emergency could happen at any time and have a variety of consequences. One way to be better prepared is to have a readymade emergency pack in your home that is stored in an accessible area.

An emergency pack could contain the following things:

  • Battery powered radio with local radio frequencies marked
  • Torch
  • Spare batteries
  • First Aid kit
  • A list of useful phone numbers, such as your doctor's and close relatives'
  • Bottled water / Canned Drinks
  • Evacuation Checklist

The Evacuation Checklist could include items such as:

  • Your Emergency Pack
  • Warm clothing and blankets
  • Essential medication and personal items e.g. spectacles
  • Baby food, nappies
  • Wallet, purse and bank cards
  • Mobile phone and charger
  • Home and car keys
  • Toiletries, sanitary supplies and any regularly prescribed medication
  • Pet carrier/collar & lead
