Hampshire Learning offers funding and support for wide-ranging Adult and Community Learning (ACL) activities across Hampshire. We provide learning activities from over 300 diverse venues including community centres, schools, children’s centres and village halls.
Most of the Adult and Community Learning provision is funded by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and delivered through a network of local providers working within local communities. This approach to delivery of ACL is designed to meet local need and demand and is explained within our Strategic Commissioning Plan for ACL 2013-14.
The Hampshire Learning team is responsible for the management of the programme of activities including: strategic direction, funding allocations, provider and data monitoring, quality of provision and building partnership-working.
Our aim is to reflect the requirements of local communities and to offer learning activities that are consistent with the policies of Hampshire County Council and those contained within Central Government’s ‘New Challenges, New Chances (2012)’ programme.
This website intends to provide relevant and up-to-date news, information and support in relation to ACL in Hampshire. These include Learner and Provider sections, as well as pages that are dedicated to topics such as Success Stories, the Course Finder, partnership-working, quality, accreditation and data.
Hampshire Learning is part of the Children’s Services Department of Hampshire County Council.
