<p>Hampshire County Council embraces devolved information ownership. Every web page has to be owned by a nominated department. They are responsible for:</p>
<ul><li>the accuracy and currency of the information provided </li>
<li>ensuring that if the information has come from another source, the source is clearly identified </li>
<li>providing the contact details to whom a visitor can address any queries.</li></ul>
<p>This standard is of particular importance because information suppliers are legally responsible for the accuracy of their data since the Data Protection Act 1984.</p>
