Schools Website Service

Please be aware that we are making background changes to the HCC Schools Website Service on Sunday 26 October 2014. This will not change the customer facing pages or the way the site is accessed. Instead it’s a background change to migrate the hosted pages/data to a new disk storage area in the HCC data centre. Therefore, if you currently use this service please be aware that the website will be unavailable for 1 hour on the Sunday morning followed by a 10 minute outage later in the day to reboot the relevant servers. Anyone accessing your website during these times will be shown a holding page explaining the site is temporarily unavailable.

The timing of this necessary change is designed to have minimal impact on schools. Affected schools are advised to check their SWS website first thing the following Monday morning and to report any issues to the IT Help Desk.

SAP

SAP will be unavailable to schools on Monday 30 June

To allow for the changeover to the new Integrated Business Centre (IBC) system, SAP will be unavailable to schools from 6pm on Friday 27 June until Tuesday 1 July. This means that SAP will be unavailable for schools to use on Monday 30 June. To prepare for the system downtime, please can all school SAP users complete the check-list in school communication SC011465.

Due to some essential maintenance you may experience a short interruption, of up to 30 minutes duration, to the listed services. If this occurs, you may be disconnected and you will need to log back into the service. Please ensure you regularly save any work.

Swivel PINSafe (used by Non-HSS schools for Remote Access)

Routine maintenance needs to be carried out, with the licence being renewed and security updates applied. During the short outage new connections to a (non-HSS) Schools Remote Working service will not be possible, but any existing connections will continue unaffected. The work is being carried out during the day to minimise any possible disruption
