E-mail Accounts
Hampshire County Councils’ POP3 E-mail service provides users with a centrally hosted secure facility for sending and receiving E-mails via our web based email client, (@Mail), or POP3 client.
This service is provided for customers who require an E-mail account and who are not able to have a corporate exchange account.
A separate service is provided for Schools, further details can be obtained from Children's Services Department.
Features and Benefits
- Choice of 5, 100 or 200 E-mail accounts.
- POP3 client such as Outlook Express and Thunderbird can be used.
- E-mail can be viewed from anywhere in the world.
- Accounts are administered by the customer.
- Administrator account allows customer to manage all user accounts and create/delete/modify their accounts as required.
- Space allocation for each individual account is 50Mb.
- All mail is passed through our anti spam and anti virus filters.

Customers
This service is provided for customers who require an E-mail account and who are not able to have a corporate email account.
Pre-requisites
Customers will need:
- Access to a PC
- Internet connection
- A browser such as IE 5 and above or Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape
Inclusions
- The service consists of 5, 100 or 200 E-mail accounts (based on the package ordered), which can be accessed via our web based E-mail client @Mail, or via a POP3 client, e.g. Outlook Express.
- The accounts are administered by the customer.
- Hampshire County Council, IT Services will create an initial domain and administrator account and provide full log on details. The administrator will then be responsible for setting up the additional required accounts and maintaining the domain (NB the registering of a domain is not included in this service).
- The administrator account allows the customer to manage all user accounts and create/delete/modify their accounts as required.
- Space allocation for each individual account is 50Mb.
- All mail is passed through our anti spam and anti virus filters.
Exclusions
The service excludes the following:
- The customer's Internet connection.
- The customers PC and associated equipment.
- Associated equipment and software, i.e. POP3 client.
- Customers who are able to or who already have a corporate exchange account.
- Schools, who are provided with a separate POP3 offering under the Hampshire County Council Internet service.
- Registration of a new domain is not included in this service (See ·Domain Name Registration service).

Customers can choose from three service packages which offer up to 5, 100 or 200 email accounts.

Additional Information
- Maximum size of an individual e-mail that can be sent or received is 25Mb.
- E-mail accounts in excess of the given space allocation (50Mb) will not be able to receive new mail until exceeded content is deleted.

Pricing Information
The service price includes an average of 1 hour support by telephone. Services are monitored and prices are kept under review.
Minimum Length
One year minimum contract, automatically renewable annually unless user requests cancellation.
Early Termination and Charges
No refunds are payable if the contract is terminated early, the contract charge is for a full year.
Delivery
Once you have placed your order, IT Services will send the administrator their log in details and user guidance via email.
