The Hantsnet cPanel Web Hosting Service provides secure web space and additional hosting services for customers requiring an "all inclusive self managed" name based service.

The cPanel web hosting service provides a way for Partner Organisations and External Customers to host and administrate their own site. This provides a range of website features.

Customers requiring ASP or .net functionality to develop web applications will need Web Hosting - IIS (Windows Based Server), as the cPanel service does not support ASP or .net.

Customers will need

• Registered ·Domain Name
• Access to a PC
• Web design and publishing software
• Internet connection.

Customers are reminded that the terms and conditions for the Web Hosting service requires the site owner to maintain their contact details with the IT Services Department. We may need to contact you regarding your website, and if we are unable to do so due to out of date contact information, your site may be at risk of removal from our hosting service.

Inclusions

The Hantsnet Web Hosting service is provided using the cPanel interface.

The main elements of the service are:

• The space allocation for this service is 100Mb as standard.

Exclusions

The service excludes the following

• The customer’s Internet connection.
• The customer’s PC and associated equipment.
• Support for the customer home PC and associated equipment
• Support for users Web design and publishing software.
• Database design and content.
• Scripting Support.

Although IT Services perform routine system backups, customers are responsible for maintaining backups of their own site content.

Options

The following service options are available in addition to the Standard Web Hosting Service:

Domain name Registration

This service is provided for customers who would like to register an approved domain name and have Hampshire County Council manage that domain on their behalf.

Additional Web Space

If the standard 100Mb space is not sufficient for your Website, additional space in 50Mb blocks is available. This option can be ordered either when the service is originally ordered, or at any later stage.

Customers will need:

• Access to a PC
• Web space hosted by Hampshire County Council
• Web design and publishing software
• Internet connection

Standard Web Search

The Hampshire County Council standard search service provides customers with the ability to search within their Websites. This service provides a simple search utility similar to the popular search sites in use on the Internet and displays the results in a standard format.

Customers will need:

• Website hosted with Hampshire County Council
• URL of the website
• Customers can also provide Meta-tags with keywords and descriptions that will assist in identifying pages during a search

Customised Web Search

The Hampshire County Council customised search service provides customers with the ability to search within their websites just like the standard search service. The look and feel of the search pages can be customised by IT Services using a template other than the standard corporate template

Customers will need:

• Website hosted with Hampshire County Council
• URL of the website
• Customers can also provide Meta-tags with keywords and descriptions that will assist in identifying pages during a search

Aliasing

Allows a Website to respond to more than one domain name. This service effectively adds an additional domain name on top of an existing domain, pointing to the same web space.

Alternatives

Customers who specifically require the use of ASP and .net functionality to develop web applications will need to select the IIS (Windows SBased Server) Web Hosting Service, as cPanel does not support ASP or .net.

Pricing and Lead-times - 2012/2013

Pricing Information

Hantsnet Web Hosting Services price includes an average of 1 hour support by telephone.

Service prices are monitored and kept under review.

Minimum Length

One year minimum contract, automatically renewable annually unless user requests cancellation. (Same contract applies for optional services.)

Early Termination and Charges

No refunds are payable if the contract is terminated early, the contract charge is for a full year.

Delivery

• Once the Webspace has been setup, a member of staff will inform the customer via email of the Username and Password details for the cPanel Web-based GUI.
• A basic instruction document will be included to give guidance on using the cPanel interface.
