Forton Road, A32, north of Gosport Town Centre

   

The aim of this scheme is to regenerate the historic centre of Forton. It will improve the environment along the strategically important A32 corridor and the setting of locally significant buildings.

Issues we will address include:

• The environmental impact of the busy A32;

• The severance effect of the highway which results in poor accessibility for shops and services;

• The under investment in public realm and consequent decline in business activity;

• The poor quality setting to local heritage in one of Gosport’s original urban villages; and the poor quality entrance route into Gosport Town Centre.
