Rumbridge Street, Totton
An Urban Design Framework was adopted by New Forest District Council in April 2003. The framework set out long term proposals for the town centre including Rumbridge Street, the original 'high street' of Totton. Work began on implementing a comprehensive scheme of improvements in 2003 with new street lighting. A second phase of improvements was completed in 2005 with the removal of a lorry park to provide a more appropriate entrance to Rumbridge Street and the Old Totton area. Further work is planned to complete the street scene and improve its attractiveness as a local centre for business.
