We can assist you with:

Landlord and tenant relations

  • lease renewals and terminations under the Business Tenancies 1954 Act (including lease analysis and expiry, notices and court procedures, interim rents, dispute resolution and negotiations between landlord and tenants)

  • rent reviews (including service of and response to notices, lease analysis, valuation advice, arbitration and independent expert referrals)

  • consents for alteration, assignment / underletting, change of use, etc

  • break clauses

  • repairing obligations, repair notices and dilapidations

  • service charges.

Routine management of property interests

  • managing the landlord / tenant relationship

  • optimising returns from under-used sites, including partnering, subletting or disposal

  • rent collection, monitoring and recovery

Land management

  • county farms - developing well-managed farm tenancies and a strong farming economy

  • rural buildings – our experienced surveyors can advise on ancient Roman buildings to modern farm buildings, and everything in between

  • rural recreational land, green space planning and woodland management - we have specialist skills to help you benefit from these special resources commercially, for biodiversity, and to improve the health and well-being of local communities. We can create management and development plans that fully integrate biodiversity, heritage, access and visitor facilities (including retail sales, visitor centre management and education provision). We can also access Forestry Commission grant funding

  • agricultural planning advice - we assess agricultural need to help with planning decisions, including a site visit and full written report within the fourteen day consultation time limit. If necessary we’ll support an application through the planning appeal process as well as acting as an expert witness

  • countryside legislation advice (for example, on rights of way, open access, commons and wildlife)

  • local community engagement to involve local communities in green space planning and management, as well as visitor surveying and profiling to assist with improvements

  • Gypsy and Traveller Service to help you plan your day-to-day management of gypsy and traveller sites

  • grazing land enquiries.
