Child casualties in Hampshire
Diagram 1: Child casualties by age and class
Diagram 2: Child casualties by class and district
Both diagrams below show that for child casualties (under 16 year olds) which occurred on Hampshire’s roads during 2012, 30% were pedestrians, 49% were vehicle occupants and 21% were pedal cyclists.
The rise in child casualties relates to an increase in children's independent mobility as they grow up.
