Emergency school closure reporting
An automated online system which reports emergency school closures to radio stations, the County Council and the public at the click of a button.
Inform your audiences of your school closure by completing a simple online form.
Completion of the form sends email notification to a school’s local radio stations and relevant staff at the County Council.
Details of the closure are displayed to the public on a dedicated Hantsweb page.
Select from a list of ‘reasons for closure’.
Free text field to add useful information for parents and students.
Schools can indicate if a closure is full or partial.
Back-up process in place if you have no Internet access.
Only available to Hampshire schools.
Saves time when dealing with an emergency situation.
Only need to complete one simple form, rather than making numerous phone calls to radio stations.
Information is accessible to the public on a web page that receives a high number of visitors during severe weather or emergencies (the dedicated Hantsweb page had 220,000 views in December 2010).
The emergency school closure system is free of charge.
