Primary and pre-primary sessions are driven by the needs of teachers, while actively engaging with students. Programmes are fully guided by our education service staff, providing fun, safe and educational visits. We encourage learning outdoors throughout the year.
Secondary schools and colleges make use of the gardens for science and geography, team building and work related learning. Art groups learn from and participate in the annual Art in the Garden exhibition.
Strong community links provide learning opportunities for the whole family at weekends and during the holidays.
Adults learn to use the outdoors as a teaching resource or for staff development days. The gardens have a full calendar of exciting workshops and events, including a variety of indoor art and photography exhibitions are held throughout the year.
Most schools visit for a full day programme, from approximately 10 am to 2 pm.
Charging is on a per head basis, and we invoice you after you have been for the number of students who attend.
Minimum fees and cancelation charges do apply, but there is no additional charge for accompanying adults on a school visit.
Although we want you and your students to enjoy your visit, we take our work seriously.
Guided activities are monitored for educational value and safety, and feedback is requested and acted upon.
